Not in anyone’s backyard is an initiative to empower all of us, by making the siting of data centers a process that residents are fully aware of before they are approved and built. There are over 40 data centers in Maryland. How much information did you have about the short- and long-term effects of them before they were in your backyard? We deserve to know all of the implications of these and for our concerns to be taken fully into account, before one brick is set down.
On this site, we will post all of the existing and planned sites (as we become aware of them), independent research on the health, environmental, and economic impacts of data centers, who is lobbying for them, who profits from them, and who is voting for or against them, so you can go to your elected officials armed with facts and take back the decision-making process.
